Doom rocked.

Doom had "The Rock" in it. Hence; it sucked.

Also, it tried too hard to be "gritty"

Most importantly, Doom did, for some wierd reason ditch the whole "über cool demons from hell come up and wreak total havoc" idea for a sucky "genetic experiments go wrong to make mad mutants". It also sucked because of the insanely long buildup to a generally bland climax. The first person sequence is the only thing worth seeing the movie for, and it's only a few minutes, and I bet that sequence has been cut out and put up on YouTube for everyone to watch.
Good thing I bought my copy from a guy's trunk in China.

I remember when they firs announced the Doom movie and it was like...

"So yeah... there's no demons. And it isn't on Mars."

umm that means it's kind of not really a doom movie.

"Fine then it's on mars."

Resident Evil movies are ok.
Other game movies I've seen haven't been that good.

Tomb raider was sort of like an ordinary action movie.

Doom rocked.
Yeah, the things the movie shared with the game was a) bewbs(not much of that), b) same-ish hair style, c) name

Cant help but wonder if the Metroid movie will ever see the light of day. Certainly has potential to be an interesting movie.

Also, for the record, the Doom movie pretty much sucked. It was just a bad rip off of Aliens for the most part.

With a Command & Conquer book in the works, I wouldn't be surprised to see a movie. They always said they would like to do one. I'm sure they could butcher that really good.

Why make a Command & Conquer movie when the games themselves are just like movies? You can't make movies more awesome than th CnC cinematics.

Yeah... i mean, the background story is pretty good but the point of RTS is that YOU make the story... I guess that doesn't stop some people but most movies tend to be about FPSs or RPGs where there is a story that one or a few characters have to fit in to. As opposed to say, Brad Pitt yelling at his harvesters to gather more Tiberium for several hours, then building a bunch of walls and turrets. and then some factories so he can build the superweapon. and then slaughters the enemy in the last 5 minutes from afar and cleans up with cheap expendable ground troops.

YOU make the story

In Soviet Russia, story makes YOU!
