I don't remember seeing that page for real. (I have looked in the Wayback Machine before though.) I remember the "blood, sweat and tears" wallpaper though. Maybe it was re-introduced on another version of the site or in the fourm.

Some time ago I was looking at all the versions of Machinae websites I could find to piece together the history of their news and dowloads pages. I complied a text version of all the news items I found, and have been keeping it up-to-date as sort of a historian's archive. I attached the current version below.

When I originally compiled it, I included links to all the archive pages as the source of my notes. But it seems the Wayback Machine is generating more and more errors these days and most of the links don't seem to work. After I had compiled my original notes, I would just add the news from the current site whenever I saw there were changes, so there aren't static links to archived pages for those items.

Nice work. :)

Indeed nice job! But I never did get this update-

2005-12-19 - Removed.
We fought the Google and the Google won.

I remember that one too but I never knew what it was about. Can someone enlighten me?

Around that time there was some Google ads (on the forum at that time I think). They posted an item on their main site news page encouraging people to go click on the Google ads. But Google (rightly) considered this fradulent, so Machinae removed it.

We need to get Bavi an official title, like Band Historian or something.

Bandwidth costs money, so it was a pretty mutual decision to put the ads up so we could click them when possible to help out if memory serves.

It was just some extra revenue, it just turned ugly for a moment and google had a spazm. All is well now =P

Here's the original thread about this news item1. According to it: refic put Google ads on the forum and decided to give all the proceeds to Machinae, Machinae put news on their website encouraging people to click the ads, Google found out, Machinae removed the news item.

1. Found by searching for Google by user robert.

And speaking of nostalgia, how many of you have seen this version of the robot-style band members?
