If Apple ever updates the Mac Mini to merom I will probably toss one in on a KVM otherwise I'll have to build myself a tiny box for OSX.

Well a little more wait and you might be able to just slap in a new Intel CPU yourself. Macs have become really simple to upgrade since the change. The Anandtech dude put two quadcore CPU's in the new Powermac. Kinda usless since not much more then servers and 3D/Compositing can use that stuff but hardware fetischists probably got of from that.

I'd rather not waste money paying for a CPU I'll toss out, even more so when Apple will be adding it to the line. There is no reason not to, it uses less energy and performs better than the comparible yonah. Also, not sure if the mac mini is socketed or not. I know the CPUs are soldered in the Macbook Pros. I might toss a 7200rpm drive in, or just upgrade the 5400rpm to one with 16mb cache if 7200 produces too much heat for the mini. (The default 5400rpm drive has a pathetic 2mb of so of cache IIRC, hence the nasty performance accessing anything.) Of course there is always the external mac mini enclosures, too bad there is no Firewire 800. :| The biggest issue for me is the lack of dual DVIs out. I really need a secondary display. :(

ECS Elitegroup G556E laptop

1,5Ghz Pentium M Processor with 2mb L2 cache
ATi Mobility Radeon 9700 128mb
512Mb RAM (formerly 1,5Gb, but it seems my newest gig of RAM is fucked)
15,1" screen
160Gb Seagate Momentus 5400RPM hard drive.

and a 250GB Western Digital Combo external hard drive.

Good performance, though crappily built. The plastic started cracking about one month after I received it, and the thingie that connects the computer to the power cable is getting seriously fucked, even after a couple of rounds of soldering and other creative solutions. When it eventually stops working entirely, I'll probably have to buy a new computer... not too thrilled about it, though, since I'm saving up money for my driver's license.

Gosh, I suck.

Athlon XP 3200+
GeForce FX 5200 256MB
768MB DDR Ram
5.1 Creative Speakers, but the soundcard fried on me apparently. Going to best buy later to pick up something cheap to replace it. Just want my surround sound back.

I do have a huge monitor, but I can't recall the exact dimensions at the moment. It's not an LCD though, so its a huge hulk of a beast. But whatever, I can get some bloody high resolutions. :)

Oh my god sexy black paint jobs (even scratch resistant clearcoating) for the Mac mini (they do imacs/macbooks/etc too): http://www.macobserver.com/article/2005/03/09.8.shtml

It makes me want it even more! Hurry up leopard/merom! :(
