downloaded the playable demo on the xbox live marketplace, and it was utterly bollocks.

Extremely slow-paced, extremely boring, graphics aren't particularly special either.

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages4/928456.asp - 70% average... I'm more inclined to agree with the lower scores though.

I heard some ppl say that the single player really sucks, but when you get on the online game you see the real game, was the demo single player only?

But anyways, dont have a 360 so im just interested

i only played single player, so unfortunately i cant comment on the online mode. i can't imagine it being much better, unless the general gameplay mechanics were completely changed.

i was actually just thinking how even the demo looked more or less lame. nothing special, still has that stilted video-gamey look that the 360 should be able to dispel by now. and the voiceover was just silly.

I can't like it on the grounds that I'm a die hard Battletech fan.

Guys, guys...the online component IS the game. Not the single player part. One playing single player only will be bored off their socks. The multiplayer on the other hand...it's a completely different story.

It's a strategy game as well as a mech game in one. Surely enough, it's a bit rough around the edges. But at least it's a diamond on the rough.
A universe where there was no War of Independence because British colonial policy was more enlightened. An American Civil War after which Lincoln wasn't assassinated. A Second World War in which Hitler was. Or where the whole planet was invaded by, I don't know, space lizards or something.

I havent played it, but one of my queer buddies is in an all-gay squad in that game.  Their emblem is the rainbow flag.  I thought that was funny.

A few of my friends play it and love it. The singleplayer game is totally crappy and boring though. The multiplayer is in fact where the game was meant to be played, on Xbox Live.

Tons of different strategies and customizations. Teamplay is important too from what I hear. I plan on picking up a copy once I secure a new 360 in the coming month or so.
