<Your band here> in anger...
« on: July 27, 2006, 12:22:47 am »
I have a slightly unhealthy habit of listening to my walkman at ridiculous volumes when I'm feeling pissed off or utterly weak. To make matters worse, I use earbud headphones, which seal the sound inside your ear so the full force of the noise is exerted into your ear. I even found out how to enter the factory menu on my MP3 Walkman to remove the sound limiter Sony applied for health and safety reasons in Europe. Tonight has been an thoroughly unpleasant one for me, and I've just been causing irreversible damage to my all time second favorite sensory organs.

What do you listen to when you're utterly unconsolable?

------

My Last Seranade - Killswitch Engage
Walk - Pantera
Killing in the Name - Rage Against the Machine
Sway - Coal Chamber
Weisses Fleisch - Rammstein
Burn it Up - The Offspring
The Truth - Limp Bizkit

When I'm pissed off, I want to listen to stuff that makes me want to dance.

Under the Influence of Giants - In the Clouds
The World/Inferno Friendship Society - Me vs. The Angry Mob
Lo-Fi-FNK - Steppin' Out
Natsumen - Nine Buddhas' Things
etc.

Now, when I'm really really amazingly emotional, it's drone. Lots and lots of drone and noise. Shit like Sunn O))), Electric Wizard, Boris + Merzbow, John Zorn, Keiji Haino, KK Null, etc.

I usually listen to several sounds created somewhere between my inner ear and my auditory cortex, no matter what mood I'm in  :P

moral: If you ever go somewhere, and, although you have been to discos all your live, upon entering the room think: "Uh damn it's loud here", then it probably *is* loud there. So don't spend a significant part of the night dancing near the speakers...

not to sound like a predictable fan boy... but Machinae Supremacy.

DXM in particular... the uplifting songs like Super Steve and Blind Dog Pridge keep my spirits high, while the "angrier" songs like Return to snake Mountain quelm my urge to break things.

then of course Flagcarrier and Tempus Fugit to calm me.

edit; I apparently a good test to see if you have your headphones up too high is to see if you can hear yousrelf typing.
if not then just go down by 1 notch.. and test again... and etc until you can hear your typing.

Haven't felt pissed or weak in a long time, so I can't answer that.

On the other hand, I'm listening to Naglfar's "Murder Manifesto" when I'm having a good day.

Forum just ate my post... IM GONNA GO LISTEN TO LINKIN PARK!

No, seriously, it's not exactly often that I'm utterly inconsolable. On the rare occasions when I feel isolated or distant, I'm likely to listen to the likes of RoeTaKa - Dreaming by Your Side and Reuben Kee - Ascension to Cosmo Canyon.

I'm not much of an angry person either, and I've never had the need to listen to music to match my angry mood. If I'm stressed or frustrated, I listen to music to calm down, like this chiptune here.

Reuben Kee - Ascension to Cosmo Canyon.

Awesome tune that, I listen to it a lot when I'm writing.

As for me, well it depends on what pissed me off. Sometimes I'll revert to teenage-angst-girl and put some Papa Roach or Spineshank on; otherwise anything loud and energetic like PM5k or 12012.

I don't have particular songs I listen to when I'm angry nor do I intentionally listen to music when I'm angry. However, last time someone ticked me off I was on my way to my car. When I'm in my car I listen to music. Always.

In my anger, the song that suited me that I wanted to hear was Machinae - Dreadnaught which I guess is slightly fitting.

I will make you see. I will never grant you ground, remember me and why you all bow down. :)

let me think...

Opeth are awesome when angry.
Pain of Salvation's heavier stuff (Used, Rope Ends...)
At The Drive-in are great with the sound to 11 when you're angry.

I'd love to find out how to do this for my w800.
