How did you get your nickname
« on: October 21, 2003, 06:01:39 am »
Im refering to you'r name that you post under and you'r avatar if you can be bothered to explain.

Originally back a few years, when on my first computer (300 celery) I joined up to this program called "ICQ". I had been playing a bit of Yoshi's Island on the SNES.  And I had to put in a nickname, so I choose Chomp Rock (my avatar) from Yoshi's Island.

After a month or two a freind started to call me chompy, that name has stuck with me ever since. I don't know why but, sometimes when I tell people they giggle, and I still don't know why they giggle.

* Wintress giggles at Chompy ;)

Hehehe, I think it's because when I see your name, it makes me think of you biting people. But then again...I am weird. :)
---------

How I got my nickname:

I met a girl who worked at Mail Boxes Etc. when I was shipping a box. Her name tag said 'Wintress', and I (apparently like hundreds of others) asked her if that was her real name or a nickname. It was her real name. I wondered if her parents read a lot of lusty romance novels or something.  ::)

I got an email from another Wintress a few years ago, and she wondered where I got the nick. I told her the story about the girl who worked at MBE...and, it was her! She said her Dad named her that because she was born during a blizzard. And she said guys who are into mythical stuff always think she's their meant-to-be-soulmate when they learn her name :P

Anyway, being a snow bunny myself, and having read my share of lusty novels...and loving all things mythical and mideival, I kept the nick. The 'real' Wintress said it was okay as long as I was only using it on nice webpages, etc. Whew, if she only knew....  ;)

Anyway, it's been my nick since I first got a computer. :)

My nick is basically how we pronounce clogs in my part of sweden :)

I just used it a little first, but now I've used it so much I feel I can't change it. I'm Trezker, and I think I'm alone at that.

Well, my name Emil G. Gravehill have two meanings...
Firstly, as I stated it somewhere other place, it means to me "Free of Grave" or "See Beyond Grave".

That was how I thought of it, but originally it's story is more... hmmm. We have this comedy group called Kummeli here in Finland. Lot's of crazy, crazy humour there. And they have this movie called "Kultakuume", aka "Goldrush". Without giving out the plot too much, it all start at mental hospital where this patient Eemeli Hautamäki does not get his cigarette--- ;D (I just translated Eemeli as Emil And Hautamäki as Gravehill... There is lot's of people called Hautamäki here in Finland, it's actual surename)

I hope that I have lived up to my nick, despiting fact that I don't smoke...

When I was about 12 years old, my father and I were into the local BBSs.. (Al gore hadn't invented the internet yet.)

So first time we log in, he asks me what my handle would be.  I'm sitting on his bed at the time, and sence there was a strict "No shoes on the bed" rule, I had bare feet.

I look down, and out of the blue, say "Bare foot, but spell it like the animal."  Bear foot became Bearfoot because you could only have one word for a name, and the rest, as they say is history.

It has some spiritual meaning for me, considering I'm shamanistic in belief.  Bear being my totem.  A lot of my life would be different had I not picked that name "Out of the blue."

Way back when geocities was cool, I tried many combinations of usernames, by putting 2 awesome words next to each other. Geocities was full of this kinda thing.

Anyways, the one that made it was "BlazeStorm".

Later on, I decided that it was a dumb nickname, I couldn't use it on IRC (too many letters). So I dropped the Storm bit and smacked Neo in front.

Then later after that I thought that NeoBlaze looked stupid, so I removed the big letters.

The rest is binary history.

I like bears lot... Me and my wife are animal freaks... We like cats, bears and elephants... And dolphins too! There's something in bears that we like much... Even my wife's favourite beer is Bear, "Karhu"... I have seen bear once in nature from hundred meters or so (it was on 80's).

I am a big fan of Dimmu Borgir and I've always thought "The Moruning Palace" was one of their greatest songs.
