Revived!

LionNinja, myself and a friend were all talking about 10,000 Days, since the Tool concerts are coming up; we figured we'd do some more playing around with the CDs and whatnot. If you've figured anything else, post it!

I just downloaded and installed the XP Karaoke plug-in for Media Center, and now I'm going to try to isolate the whispers on the Third Eye LP.

They opened with Stinkfist when i saw them a few months ago, can't wait until August

Pants it should be pretty easy to find stuff out now that some of the lyrics sites have amended the lyrical text for 10,000 days

This thread was made before the Music Discussion board i think VisionThing

First time I saw them (june 2006), they opened with Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned.
Second time (december 2006), it was Stinkfist.

Oh damn, I forgot they'll be in France in august.
Gotta see them one more time.

I tried the thing suggested in the first post, and it did sound pretty sweet. I agree with the people who don't quite see the huge appeal of Tool though. They're talented and make some pretty good music but theres plenty of music I'd rather listen to. Personally I appreciate more depth in lyrics (check anything by Pain of Salvation) when it comes to progressive music than the kind of stuff thats being found for Tool.

Apparently if mantra is played on a vinyl record at 56 RPM, it sounds like a cat purring.

Album version on Aenima, or live version on Salival ?

The version from Salival is good. I was never very fond of the album version, though.

Except that on the only album of theres I own (10,000 Days) a lot of the songs don't have decipherable lyrics unless you look them up on the internet. I'm talking about the kinds of concept albums that have really deep meaning behind them and tell a story or that sort of thing.

But I'm pretty sure that 10000 days does follow a storyline of sorts. Just I can't understand what Mayonnaisse is singing half the time.

really?
I find the only song that's hard to decipher is Rosetta Stoned.
and it's not really meant to be heard.

crazy person and all.
