I Know The Reaper vs Breaking The Habit
« on: May 30, 2006, 12:23:21 am »
Seeing it's similarity week at the moment and having spent the evening reading in the Machinae forum (again), I thought it's time for me to get an account here and start posting myself...

Well, I hope that's not something ~soo obvious~ that everyone noticed it and there's no need to talk about it anyway (or this topic has been through a million times already), I just wanna ask...

I Know The Reaper vs Breaking The Habit (by Linkin Park. Please don't shoot me for liking Linkin Park...)

The melody sounds quite similar, and the word "realize" is in the "same" place ("What you fail to realize" vs "inside I realize")...

Intended? Coincidence?

*Shoots Kernel for liking Linkin Park*

Seriously though, I don't listen to LP, so I don't really know. I just posted to shoot you. Too tempting.

Welcome, BTW!

Wow.
That's interesting.
You are right, somehow the melodies are alike, yes.
We're open to such things, we've even talked many times about doing it with Inja, but in a way that's redundant because we can already get Erica

Coincidence for sure. But Breaking the habit is a really cool song. I like it anyway.  :)

wasn't Breaking The Habit a cover song anyway?(Correct me if I'm wring but Genisus did it first I think) heh, It just proves that the only way LP can do a good song is if they do a cover song.

hmm I didn't listen to both to compare but at some point I was considering mixing breaking the habit with a backstreet boys song because they seemed really quite similar, and the choruses were nearly identical outside of lyrics and style of instrumentation. i think reaper is a good bit different actually..

/doesn't like linkin park
//definitely doesn't like backstreet boys
///machinae ftw

These topics suck. Machinae copied all their songs from Rob Hubbard anyway. The SID sounds are very similar.

Yeah, and almost every single rock or metal musician today just totally rip off the guy who invented the dist-box.

I will never connect Machinae Supremacy to a "Linkin Park" song.

Ever.

EVER.

I connect Linkin Park to multiple holes in the head.

And multiple slashes on wrists. (not mine, theirs).

I always thought the same, actually. but I Know the Reaper's a way better song.

Breaking the Habit is at least a good song, though.
