My views on Redeemer

I'll keep this short.

The songs are in a word, awesome, an album with no throwaway tracks is rare as hell. this being one such album. Pretty much every song lives up to that "my favourite track is..." standard. So i'm not gonna list em all. Also Redeemer has some really surprisingly heavy parts. For example, 2:34 in Rogue World Asylum (holy fuck). Don't know if the guys are using 7 strings these days or baritones or just tuning fairly low or whatnot but it's awesome. The production on the album is top notch. I was particularly worried recently about production, particularly on the latest sidology (the snare drum sounds really 80's and triggered to me) but the production on Redeemer is crystal clear, i reckon as a band Machinae have some of the best production going. This further confirms that. I read the thread relating to clipping. I study a lot of sound engineering and do a lot of recording/production myself but i'm in no way an audio purist (196kbps MP3 plz) it's great when stuff sounds loud and intense as this album does. The packaging of this album is also cool. I lol'd at the Buffy quote.

On the whole a progression for Macinae Supremacy, SiD metal and independant music, the bar has been raised once more. The way it should be.

sido3 was 12 minutes long. No drummer is going to play that long for a recording. Live is a completely different matter :P

He means 2 duh, but yeah i like 2 to follow 3, that way both the quality and length go up as well as the nintendo tracks only show up in the last song instead of being bookended. Yeah, that might be how it was planned to work but the quality of Sid 2 makes it stick out and really not fit in between the others.

Sid1 ~ 5:48
Sid3 ~ 7:00
Sid2 ~ 12:50

That's not true, a drummer could do that for a recording, might be impractical for accuracy but if theyre a good drummer it's not so much a problem; keeping consistent is number 1 priority for recording anyway, either way.. love.

I'd worry about the drummers health after, though. Might need some stitches handy to sew his arms back on. :P

Tomas doesn't need stitches, just a copious amount of alcohol. Kind of like Bender in Futurama.

Let in Tom, watch him in awe
No more bottles of beer on the wall!

Wait. SOMEONE, SOMEWHERE, decided that it would be a good idea to give you a 'real' job?

Man, it must be impossible to get fired from there!
