They don't grunt. That's a common misconception. Of course it sounds cooler when they do.

Anyways I think that's utter crap. German is THE most beautiful language in the world IMNSHO. It certainly doesn't need to be "touchy-feely" and "soft" like latin languages. It sounds beautiful the way it is. The structure in German is also unbeatable.

The structure in German is also unbeatable.
Foreign students who have to learn der/die/das/er/sie/es/der/dem/der etc will tell you otherwise. :P What's wrong with just die/sie, like it/its? Not that Swedish is much better in that regard, mind.

And you can write good Swedish lyrics for heavy music, I think Streebers wrote some very powerful lyrics that would sound silly in English. Maybe it was their way of singing, but some words don't have any good-sounding equivalent, like Betongbarn (concrete-children). Translating their lyrics takes away all the punch, like:
"Döden vann sista striden, en rysk roulette mellan mänskan o tiden"
"Death won the final battle, a russian roulette between man and time"

You can only translate the text, everything else is lost.

Often a text in one language has more than one meaning, then it's impossible to translate correctly.
You'd have to translate into several versions to get all the angles.
