Instrumental tracks
« on: February 08, 2006, 02:55:46 pm »
Will there be many instrumental tracks on Redeemer? I loved cryosleep and many others downloadable and the Jets'n'guns ost is great but when getting DXM I was a bit disappointed that there were no (haven't listened to all songs in a while, I could be wrong. At work now) instrumental tracks. No offense to the singer :P but I tend to like instrumentals more since it must focus more on melodies. And it is more true to the origin, SID and games music.

LBRK is awesome as well (even though a bit short. You have to listen to it several times every time ;D). And I love ghost even though it has lyrics :D Like everyone else, I want more and can't wait!

Oh and I personally love your opinion about filesharing and independent music. It's the future and we know it. Decent people will pay for what they love.

Machinae Prime (last track on DXM) is an instrumental.

As I couldn't find the lyrics for it on the album art, I'm guessing the Cavern of Lost Time will be instrumental. Or I'm just blind.

It's likely.

Didn't I read somewhere that it was an Intro?

With the exception of the song intros, there won't be any instrumental tracks.. or so Robert tells us.

Well considering the last 4 (?) promo tracks were instumental.. including a ~13 minute long song, you should be happy with them. :P

One of the questions I ALWAYS get when I introduce MaSu to someone via an instrumental track is, "Do they have any lyrics?" At which point I trot out FFN or Winterstorm or Ghost. But my point being, the general mainstream public is used to lyrical music. So it follows that a mainstream release album would want to be mostly lyrical to hook the listeners, and then maybe they'll find the instrumental works later and enjoy them too.
Your approval fills me with shame.

True Rehevkor. I guess they fit better for download songs. Which is fine by me :)

Ah I see your point Schattenjäger. I suppose most people expect lyrics in a release. I'm just more fond of the gaming side of MaSu than the commercial. But I'm sure it will be great. Too bad about the delay.

I'm guessing "Prelude to Empire" will be an instrumental, but I've been wrong in the past.

By degrees we beheld the infinite abyss, fiery as the smoke of a burning city;
Beneath us, at an immense distance, was the sun, black but shining.

Prelude to Empire and Caverns of Time are both Intros AFAIK. This doesn't necessarily mean they're instrumental ofc ;)
