Rise Lyrics
« on: February 07, 2006, 05:38:20 am »
I haven't seen anything about this yet, and there's one bit of two lines I badly want to quote, but I can't quite catch one word.

"Somewhere along the line it seems,
That _____ became cool, and pwnt mainstream."
Your approval fills me with shame.

So far what I've got is:

Now somewhere along the line it seems
That (print?) became cool
And punk mainstream

I mean, that's what it sounds like, but I'm obviously still not sure.

Oh, ok, I thought it was more of a saying something became cool and pwnt mainstream... which would just be incredible in MaSu's first title to HIT mainstream...

So what I'm getting:
"White trash scattering their criffs,
No more than assholes with feet.
Somewhere along the line it seems
That criff became cool,
and punk mainstream."

Obviously something is wrong in that, as it makes little sense in that wording.
Your approval fills me with shame.

Hmm, you might be right, but what's "criff" anyway...that's why it doesn't make sense to me

I went looking around on some translation sites. Supposedly (according to Xerox. Pluh.) "Criff" is Welsh. Translated from Welsh to English, Criff means "sed, he cries, she cries, it cries, he weeps, she weeps, it weeps, he will cry, he will be crying, she will cry, she will be crying, it will cry".

... Maybe the lyrics mean that Emo is becoming cool nowadays and Punk is becoming mainstream? *shrugs*
I can't think of anything. ... Nevermind.

Wonder how much of a kick the band's gonna get out of this thread...

Still wish it was "pwnt mainstream" :P

Still trying to extract the lyrics?

http://www.machinaesupremacy.com/lyrix/rise.txt

Ever since I knew the hive
I’ve been accumulating misery
But I can see there are those who thrive
bloom in the age of Realityâ„¢

Like legion they rise, my doomsday device

Inside, Somewhere inside
A different light, A different mind
Inside, Somewhere inside
I’d like to find a different kind of you

And in the urban hell where I live
jaded like strays in the street
white trash scattering their “cribs”
no more than assholes with feet

And somewhere along the line it seems
that “pimp” became cool and punk mainstream
