I hate Baldur's Gate and everything else that runs on the Infinity Engine.

Except Torment, because you don't spend all day in combat.

I don't mind the rule system (actually, I do, but that's beside the point), I mind the engine.

It sucks so much ass it's hard to imagine it doesn't give God hemorrhoids.

As does the Neverwinter Nights engine. Ugh.

Baldur's Gate is the most overrated RPG I've played aside from FF7. I was expecting something good but it was boring as fuck, I couldn't even be asked to make it out of the starting dungeon or whatever fighting with the shitty game engine's controls/camera shit. Fuck that noise.

I, however, liked Neverwinter Nights. Other than the engine. Runs like absolute shit even on a top of the line system if you use ATi. That and the world felt like I was in a grid of squares!

I absolutley hated NWN. It was too repetitive (Run here, kill this, flick switch, bring item). At least Baldur's Gate had some interesting NPC's, and a coherent storyline, with the odd unexpected twist. Compare this to NWN.
