Well, anyways.  :P

Weren't all the previous SOAD albums longer than this one, though? This one had 12, I thought most of the others had upwards of that.

You know, SOAD has always been heralded as this big anti-corporate political band, but in the back of my mind there's been this thought of "what if they're actually just a corporate band made to cash in on the market for the people who believe these things." What if they're actually the very thing we hate...?
That's the problem with heroes, really. Their only purpose in life is to thwart others. They make no plans, develop no strategies. They react instead of act. Without villains, heroes would stagnate. Without heroes, villains would be running the world. Heroes have morals. Villains have work ethic.

YOU'VE RUINED MY THOUGHTFUL POST. *sob*

Lol, anyone else care to comment on my "what if?"

And activists care, that's who. DID YOU EVER THINK OF THE ACTIVISTS?!1

I don't think SOAD are uber corporate, nor do I think that their "marketed" as anti-corporate.

I don't think any band purposely writes bad songs for an album either, I mean music is one of those things that you do because you love it.

I do think that their maybe using their fame and their success to maybe be a little more experimental. They know that they have lots of fans and that their records will sell so their not holding back and sticking to any one formula.

happy now? :P

You wouldn't think that if you looked at the In Flames Audioscrobbler group. The general consesus is that they're sell outs for slightly changing their sound for STYE (which, IMO, isn't too shabby and nowhere near as bad as most In Flames group members say)
