Speaking of Redeemer, i think im going to do some machinae dedicated artwork soon, maybe before i go to new york on friday for 10 days, maybe when i get back, but i definetly would like to give something good to present artwise to promote redeemer, not even to put it in the album art, of course not, but for consumer interest, if its good enough, if i get it done, then who knows.

Anyway,

Captain Robert and his band of merry machinaes for teh win/.

I thought that actually was what you meant at first. With the

secondly... you consider me art? awww... i feel so wanted.

because i thought you were referring to
im going to do some machinae dedicated artwork soon

(in which case he would be "doing" you, the certainly machinae-dedicated dude, and also regarding you as artwork), and not

i definetly would like to give something good to present artwise

(Which is more blatant in its ambiguity but somehow not what came to mind first).

In conclusion: You are star-cross'd lovers and I like to insert quotes.

I agree.

Yes. If you go up to a company and say "Hey look, we've got 2000 copies already in the bag", hopefully they'll go "Ooooh." or something and say "Well, we can certainly work towards that. We love you. Why haven't we signed you up before? I don't know. I think our entire company are morons, including myself. Let's go into liquidation and re-emerge calling ourselves 'The Machinae Record Company FTW' and we'll pass the entire company to you guys." Or something to that effect.

It is a good idea... Provided we'd get that many signatures... Problem though if we found that after a while there'd be like 50 registered people :) ... Then it would really do no good :) ... I'm not saying people wouldn't want to buy it, but maybe they're not paying attention, or maybe just don't wanna get into something before it exists, or before they've heard samples etc...

Also, maybe the companies would know it meant nothing unless the number is huge... I don't know... It's still a good idea though...

hmmm yeah I guess that is a good point. Your best bet is maybe pointing out how many downloads you've had, how many people listen on last.fm and audioscrobbler and whatnot.

This is what I hope will make the diff with the companies we contact...

They'll receive a promo pack, which will look like this,
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22031804/

...containing a CDROM (mixed mode audio+data) with 3 redeemer tracks, some live clips and additional promo material.

They'll see the pack, and think "shit, this is cool, i need to listen to this cause it's gotta be cool" ... and maybe they'll like it...

The book (the spreads to the right) will detail our cooler numbers, like the amount of downloads, the scrobbler/last.fm stuff and such things, and contain a lot of the artwork and info for dxm, jetsnguns, the website, media reviews and articles, and  fan art.

I hope this pack will convince the recipients that we are serious about this, be it labels, magazines or distributors.
