Ah swell, this again... The ogg that's bad...
It's been suggested before, but for some reason I never managed to find any new ogg on the vorbis website. Why is that? The site simply sucks, or some more dubious reason?
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear enough. Basically, I like that format, but there was a huge progress since 1.0 release. Funnily enough, 99% of work behind that progress was made by a third-party enthusiasts like Garf (famous for his high bitrate "
GT3" tuning, now Garf works for Nero) and Aoyumi (current unofficial Vorbis developer, it is him who wrote the famous "
aoTuV" tunings). Latest official release, Vorbis 1.1 consisted of a plain aoTuV b2 code with some additional bugfixes.
The whole situation went bad because of the dumb management, and that is why the official site may be considered dead. Or, more like "comatose".

The latest (and apparently, the best) unofficial encoder out there is aoTuV b4 merged with Vorbis 1.1.1 (1.1.1 is fairly fresh but another bugfix-only "official" release) — the one I provided the link for.
I will download and try this new oggenc of yours, since you were kind enough to provide a direct link...
You're welcome.
You may also have a look at the last alpha of LAME MP3 encoder,
LAME 3.97a11, which also shows some exceptional quality (for an MP3 encoder of course).
It's never bad to update your software, anyway.

I'm almost sure I have a shopmusic file...
Ah, I would be very grateful if you find it! That is one of the best in-game tunes, IMHO.
