I'm 16, and I've been writing music for nearly three years now [only seriously for the past couple of months, though]. I play guitar and compose. I mainly write with softsynth and VSTi's.. which is because I lack decent recording equipment to accomodate decent guitar sounds [hence most of the guitar parts in my music sounding like shit.. VST's have only come so far, and I refuse to use anything recorded with my shitty PC mic and horrible electric guitar rig.. good effects, horrid amp.].
Eh, here's a few of my tracks. They're part of a little project I'm doing; there's more, but I feel these are the strongest. Somewhat unfinished, but pretty damn close. No vocals, and everything was done on a software setup. Pretty diverse in terms of a genre--the tracks I have here range from jazz-like to industrial to ambiental breakbeat rock. ..I guess. Heavily influenced by a whole slew of different artists. They tend to get a bit repetative at times, but that's because I mainly compose by layering on top of a base riff or progression. Eh, I like them, so why not?
Sorry that it's a bunch of Yousendits--I used to have a SoundClick account but I shut it down until I finish what I'm working on now, and I don't feel like finding a server at the moment. Anyway, enjoy, and tell me what you think. Thanks!
Forenote-The drums suck in most/all songs, I know. Drums aren't really the focal point of any of my tracks, so I really don't spend too much time on them, aside from tone.
Stage 2 - Lust and Corruption [Recently redid the ending.]
Stage 4 - Heartache [Newest.]
Stage 5 - Resentment [Fairly old.]
EDIT - hobo, I like your songs, but honestly, "Damp Grass" reminds me of a mix of Eighteen Visions [can't recall the name of the track in particular] and "The Great Gig in the Sky" from Pink Floyd at the beginning, and the solo is also reminiscant of Floyd [notably the second solo from "Comfortably Numb"]. "Shocked" sounds a lot like "Freestyler"/"Sidstyler".
