kiddo, doesn't quite fit the bill i'm afraid, but i do say. And if it 's a matter of opinion, then going as far as saying garritan actually sucks is just an ill educated statement.

since we're posting samples!

http://www.garritan.com/mp3/DP-KnightsAndMagic.mp3
http://www.garritan.com/mp3/DP-Wings%20Of%20Dreams.mp3

Both are "quite" nice, but there are plenty of much nicer ones, like the fantasia piece http://www.garritan.com/mp3/FantasiaTheme-ThomasTallis.mp3 done in garritan.

http://www.garritan.com/mp3/index.html

Go nuts. This isn't directed at lysander, it's simply here for reference, i have yet to put down your east west progra you've shown, which, i listened to, and sounds good.

EDIT: In fact, i am now curious to try out this East West, and compare (themarket.com?) as i don't really get what parts of garritan lack when it comes to pitting it against East West, why do you say it sucks? I would like a more expanded reasoning if you wouldn't mind too mucho.

EDIT2: I was rather quick to judge that your opinion was ill educated, though it may be in some cases, i am now looking at reviews saying "anything is better than garritan" which is shocking really. I can't really afford or get a hold of East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold or infact Vienna Symphonic Orchestra Pro, so if you do have a hold of your source, i would most appreciate a naughty private message detailing the whereabouts of it. :)

I bought it ]: I tried to torrent it, but the librarys are so huge the amount of seeders and my connection meant it'd take a billion years.
I only have the silver edition when they were offering a bundle deal. The platinum edition costs loaaads.

Hm, suppose the silver isn't too expensive at all for a high quality VST plugin.

So, can you tell me whats so good about it? I'd really consider buying it if i could hear a first hand detailed opinion on the product. Thanks.

I downloaded the silver version once. And i personally don't think that it sounded good enough.
Then i'd rather use Edirol Orchestral or the stuff in Nexus.

Still, downloading the complete platinum version would be teh doom. The complete size of that thing is like 200 GB or something. But I do want *drool*.
The price is $1,165.00  :-\.

Which is understandable, considering your music isn't really that heavy in the classical department.

EWSO Is easy to use. That's why i like it. I don't have to rig up anything other than what i want, when i need it. Obviously the platinum edition has about 10000 possible mic positions and articulations for the playing of a single violin string or something, so that'd be a bit more extreme to get right.
For me at the time, it was cheap, affordable and expansive, as well as decent sounding.

Here's a song I did a few days ago.  One of my good friends asked me to write a song that sounded like a happy acorn, so I did (she's heavily into 8bit music as well)

Not my stuff, but I am merely promoting my friends band.

They're called In Strain, and they are metalcore. (I'm looking in your general direction, Rad. :P)

Their MySpace, with their single Disease

They are playing live tomorrow, so I am off to see and support them tomorrow :)
