got the game/email.

Guys, this game r0cks.

Cant wait to begin making the soundtrack, im getting a friend to help me out.. he plays guitar and is SEHR gut. So yea.. just getting all the masugn stuff seeing how i can work with that.

Thanks. :) You could post your progress here, or just mail me when you have a song done. It'd be nice if you made the songs slightly longer too, by repeating large parts of them, so it won't sound odd that the music ends and restarts so often during play.

About the game itself, if you had any problems or there were things you think can be better, just tell me. It's still missing alot of things, like enemies, various types of doors and the Crack interface.

that screen shake thing is awesome.. i love it!

i never got time to play it much, ill play it asap. rather busy at the moment getting exams outta the way. but aye.

Yeah, making the screen shake can make a big difference in the feel of the game - that's partly why I think Worms "felt" much better than Worms 2. Fire the MPFB or the Nuke for some serious screen shaking. :p There'll be a user option for turning it off, but I've tried playing without it, and it's just not the same.

Oh, and about making the songs longer, it's also good if you can have some kind of variation in them, as long as you think it fits in the song. The player will probably spend at least twenty minutes in each level of the game, but it's hard to say now.

just do like the JnG OST and make em loopaple and maybe longer if your levels are longer though that there isnt as much reptition

I think VisionThing was saying that I could loop the music in-game, not that you should do it in the Jets'n'Guns style.

Though you can't loop music in Gamemaker, unless you do it manually by simply chopping up the music in two files and repeating only one of them.

What format are you using for the songs?  Martin Rijks made a really nice script for playind MODs specifically, but it can play some other formats.  Not sure if it would be useful in your game, but it helped a bit in one I made a while back.  It's available for download on the Game Maker official site.

Also, need any help testing the game?  Let me know if you ever need someone to play around with it and find broken things :)

oh god.. WHAT HAVE I DONEEEEEAHHH!!!!!

Anyway. Im gonna get testing the game when i come home today at 6pm, test the fuck out of it, then meeting up with guitarists to produce some r0ck out shit, and talk to them about helping on the soundtrack.

Turtle: most probably we'll be using MP3's, but I guess it's up to MDX if he knows any better format. I don't think Gamemaker can play OGG files though, would've ben cool otherwise. Unless the script you're talking about can do that of course.

As for testers, I'm reluctant to give out the alpha demo since it spoils all the weapons in the game, and some enemies, but if you really want to try it I can send it to you.
