What does Sweden have to do with goth music O.o

Anyway, I was listening to either Cryosleep or Anthem Apocalyptica, and my dad walked in.

Dad: "What band is this?"
Me: "Machinae Supremacy"
Dad: "Too many syllables."
If they hear anything slightly metal related they automatically classify it as, "gay goth music." They have absolutely no taste when it comes to music, none.

Poor people that don't like metal/hard rock.
I can't live without it very long, this weekend I lived without it, after two days I was beginning to really feel the abstinence.

Now, Machinae Supremacy is 7 syllables.

That's what I thought for a while...  Apparently the band pronounces it the same as "Machine," so that would make it 6 syllables.  Most people I know still pronounce it "Mock - in - ah" though.
Yeh, I find it exceedingly hard to break a pronunciation habit, and I pronounce "machinae" as mock-in-eye. It's always been that way, gonna be that way for a looooooong time.

I used to pronoucne it Match- in- aye, now i've learnt ;D

I've taught myself to say it properly everytime. HOURS it took! HOURS!!!! Chinese water torture! but instead of drips, just a repeated recording of my own voice saying Machine Supremacy, Machinae Supremacy, Machinae Supremacy....

My sis likes half the stuff I listen to. She loves Green Day, Linkin Park and stuff, but when I put, say, Static-X on, she can't take it. But she's not oblivious like a lot of ppl. She did appreciate Sidology 3 tho, and so did my mum when she heard Flimbo's Quest - that was my mum's favorite ever game (second was Lemmings ;D)

LOL.

She's deffinately not like that. It's just that every time I buiy a brand new game my mum'll say, "Have you completed Flimbo's Quest yet?"
And, because I haven't had my Commodore out for 5 years now I always have to admit, "No. I haven't."
Mum: "Ahhh, you're playing all these games but you still haven't done Flimbo's Quest. That was a proper game!"

She's right... but tbh, I really can't play those games anymore. I'm a graphic-whore and I'm not into all this retro gaming stuff in the slightest. I like their legacy, but I won't touch them.

Personally I can't say I think much of Static-X myself. Then again, I have an aversion to that kind of singing voice. So I fully understand your sister.

If your mom's a Flimbo's Quest fan, she'd be thrilled by the Instant Remedy version of the song. It's bloody brilliant. The most cheerful instrumental ever.

Tha'ts exactly what I was thinking when I read the title. Everybody I know seems to have got at least 3 of the 4 series dvds they have out now, except me. Must get round to it.... one day.
